What Customers Say

  • We were in Caye Caulker last month and chose Captain Amado's outfit for ethical reasons, since they do not feed the animals. The great part ? You get to benefit from the fact that the animals are conditioned to approach humans without taking part in the conditionning. Who knows, with time, maybe the animals will become conditioned to ignoring humans and keep going about their business 🙂

We are divers and had never made a snorkeling tour before. We were so pleased with what we saw during the first tour that, following 2 dives, we booked a second snorkeling tour with Amado (by "booking", I mean that Amado and I shook hands on the street to seal the deal ; an honest way to do business). Our guide David is very good, knowledgeable, easy going and pronounces the command to summon french canadians to get in the water perfectly 🙂 His two helpers Justin and....arrrrrhhhhhh !!! I forgot his name !! are both very helpful and alert. The shop offers water bottle refilling for 1$ to help reduce the amount of plastic bottles being used so, during your bike ride, stop over and spread the word. We'll definately see you guys when we go back to Caye Caulker 🙂
  • There are SO many snorkelling shops on this island, but don't be fooled - Captain Amadoand his team are the folks you should pick for the job! While he mainly advertises what he *doesn't* do (they do not feed or touch the wildlife, or use foam on board), I feel I should point out what the company does amazingly well: - Same price as much less responsible shops - Genuine, friendly staff - High quality equipment & low emissions boat - Small group size - Conscientious staff who are keen to educate and also find and point out all the wildlife we were hoping to see - Leave earlier than other shops so the snorkelling spots are way less crowded I've been to Belize more than once and the way other companies treat the wildlife and the environment is abysmal. There was GRAFFITI written on one of the sting rays :'( I was immediately drawn to Amado's commitment to being eco-friendly, and he is also very friendly guy in general. It was great having chats with him over the week that I was in town.

  • We did a 1/2 Day tour with Captain Amado and Alex. It was plenty of time to see all the essentials: sharks, stingrays, sea turtles, manatees and bountiful fish! It was incredible! Since my mum has mobility issues (recent knee surgery), she was nervous about getting into and out of the boat, but both the captain and Alex were super accommodating helping her at every stage and making it a memorable experience. Respect for the reef and the biodiversity it supports, is what this company is all about. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
